Why it matters
What a registered will changes for your family
If you die without a will registered in the UAE, decisions about your children and your estate are made for you. A will puts you back in charge.
Without a will
- Your UAE estate can be divided under fixed legal rules, not your wishes
- Accounts in your name, even joint ones, can be frozen for months
- A court decides who looks after your children
- Your share of jointly owned property can be tied up
- Your family has to piece together your intentions
With your EWill will
- You decide who inherits, and in what shares
- Your chosen executor can start dealing with your estate
- You name the guardians you trust for your children
- Back-up choices are ready if plans change
- Your wishes are written down clearly in one document

FAQ
Your questions, answered
Who can make a will with EWill?
EWill is for adults over 21 who live in the UAE or own assets here and do not hold a passport from a GCC country. A short check at the start confirms whether EWill suits you.
Does my will cover assets outside the UAE?
No. Your EWill will covers your assets in the UAE. For property or accounts in other countries, we recommend taking advice in those countries, as their rules can differ.
When do I pay?
Only at the end. You can answer every question, make changes and read a full preview without paying anything.
How long does it take?
Most people finish in one sitting. The questions are short; the time goes into deciding who you want to include. Your progress saves automatically.
What is an executor?
The person who carries out your will: they gather your assets, pay any debts and share the rest as you instructed. They also look after anything left to a beneficiary under 21.
Can my spouse and I make one joint will?
Each person needs their own will. Many couples prepare theirs at the same time so that their wishes match.
Can I change my will later?
Yes. You can update your answers whenever your life changes, and a new version of your document is created each time. A changed will needs to be registered again to take effect.
Is my information safe?
Your data is encrypted, stored privately and only visible to you. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, so there is no password to steal.
Is EWill a law firm?
No. EWill helps you prepare your will through guided questions and does not give legal advice. If your situation is complex, we recommend speaking to a qualified lawyer.
